My first chanterelle find!

Oh my goodness, I’ve lived in southern Colorado for 19 years and haven’t successfully found any of these babes until this week!

We found enough to cook up for family dinner last night…woah.

Ethical foraging practices;

💛 take only what I need

💛 leave behind enough to not interfere with nature too much

💛 give gratitude for the gifts

💛 only take what I’m 100% certain of identifying

💛 when in doubt, ask for guidance from someone experienced

And I always try to remember that it’s about the journey and sometimes that means I come home empty-handed.

This planet is abundant in all that we need, let’s do what we can to keep it that way 💛
